Editorial Policy
How Articles Are Written
Every article on EchoCalculator is written to a fixed structure: a direct summary up front, long-form sections that treat one aspect of the topic at a time (core meaning, love, career and money, spiritual reading, practical response), a genuine FAQ, and — where the topic touches documented history or scholarship — a sources list with outbound links to the references used.
Digit and sequence meanings follow the mainstream numerology tradition as documented across established references. When traditions differ on a point, we follow the majority reading and, where the difference is interesting, say so on the page.
Tradition, Fact and Opinion — Labelled
Three kinds of statement appear on this site, and we keep them distinguishable. Tradition ('in numerology, 4 represents stability…') reports what the tradition teaches — it is not presented as laboratory fact. Documented fact (Pythagoras's dates, Jung's 1952 publication, a term's first appearance) is checked against encyclopaedic sources and cited. Editorial judgement ('we recommend the journal method because…') is argued openly as advice, never dressed as either of the other two.
No Predictions, No Invented Evidence
EchoCalculator does not predict events, guarantee outcomes, or present angel numbers as proven mechanisms. We do not publish statistics, studies, survey results or testimonials that we cannot source — which is why you will find none of the '87% of readers…' decorations here. Where a psychological explanation exists alongside a spiritual one (the frequency illusion is the standard case), we present both and let the reader judge.
Commercial Relationships and Advertising
EchoCalculator is free to read and is supported by advertising (including Google AdSense) and, in some articles, affiliate links to books or products relevant to the topic. Affiliate links are ordinary links inside editorial content; they never determine what a page concludes, and products are never recommended on the basis of commission. Advertising is labelled as advertising wherever it appears and is kept visually separate from editorial content.
Corrections
If a page contains an error — factual, historical, mathematical or typographical — we correct it, update the page's 'last updated' date, and, for substantive corrections, note what changed. Readers can report errors via the contact page; please include the page address and the point at issue. Correction reports are read by the publisher personally.
Review Cadence
Pages are reviewed when new information warrants it and on a rolling basis as the library grows; the 'last updated' date on each article is the honest record of its latest substantive review, never a cosmetic refresh. Meaning pages change rarely — the tradition they report is settled — while history and method pages are the most frequently revisited, since scholarship and our own understanding both continue to move.
Health and High-Stakes Topics
Angel number content sometimes touches grief, relationships, money and major life decisions. Every article carries a standing notice: this material is for reflection and entertainment, not professional advice. We will never publish content encouraging a reader to delay medical care, ignore financial obligations, or make an irreversible decision on the basis of a number.
The Sources We Rely On
The library's meanings are compiled from the published record of the angel-number and numerology tradition. The standing sources are:
- Doreen Virtue, Angel Numbers 101 (2008) — the standard modern reference for sequence-by-sequence meanings, and the source most of the contemporary tradition descends from.
- Doreen Virtue & Lynnette Brown, Angel Therapy (2005) — background on the practice side of the tradition: how readings are framed and applied.
- Underhill Dudley, Numerology: Or, What Pythagoras Wrought (1997) — the classic sceptical treatment of the subject, used wherever the library presents the evidence-checking view, and a standing check against the tradition's grander claims.
- Encyclopaedia Britannica — for documented facts: the history of numerology, Pythagorean number symbolism, and dated historical claims.
Individual articles list the specific sources they used in the Sources section at the foot of the page. Where the tradition's sources disagree with each other, pages say so rather than silently picking one.
How a Meaning Is Compiled, Step by Step
- The sequence is broken into its digits and reduced to its root number, following the classical method the tradition uses.
- The settled readings for the sequence and its digits are checked across the standing sources above.
- Differences between traditions are noted for the page, not smoothed over.
- The reading is written up by life area — love, work, money, growth — framed as what the tradition teaches.
- A practical response is added: what the tradition suggests doing, kept reflective and low-stakes by design.
Photography and Illustrations
The number artwork that heads each article is original illustration created for EchoCalculator. Photographs inside articles are free-licence stock images (currently from Wikimedia Commons), each credited with its photographer and licence in the caption beneath it, in line with the round of improvements that added photography to the library. Photographs illustrate setting and mood; they are never presented as evidence for any claim, and no photograph on this site depicts a reader, a reading, or an event described in an article.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you accept guest posts or paid placements inside articles?
No to both. Articles are written and published under this policy by the site itself; advertising appears only in separate, recognisable ad slots. If a commercial relationship ever did touch content, this policy requires it to be disclosed on the page — and the standing rule is that it doesn't.
Can I cite EchoCalculator in my own writing?
Yes — cite the specific page, link to it, and where the underlying claim matters, cite the published source from that page's Sources list as well. That two-step habit is exactly the reading discipline the library is built to encourage.
